Serving the people of Richmond and Northallerton as their MP
Rishi has represented his North Yorkshire constituency since 2015. He champions the area and the issues that matter to local residents. In the last year, he has secured funding for a surgical hub at the Friarage Hospital, doubling the number of operations possible, and led the campaign to gain national trail status for the Coast-to-Coast walk. He has also pushed for better digital connectivity across the region, standing up for the farmers and rural communities at the heart of the constituency.

Established The Richmond Project, to boost social mobility in the UK
The Richmond Project’s aim is to transform lives through numbers. Since launching in September 2025, it has carried out the biggest ever study of numeracy across the UK, Number Nation, identifying the groups and regions that need help the most. It is also funding initiatives to support numeracy in the early years, transform maths in schools and help vulnerable adults with their finances. The Richmond Project is now working with the Department for Education to develop and trial a new financial literacy curriculum for schools.

Ensuring Britain stays competitive in the AI race
As Prime Minister, Rishi hosted the first ever leaders’ summit on AI in 2023. He believes that this technology will transform our world, that Britain must take a leading role and that AI safety and AI progress go hand in hand. He continues to champion the UK’s world-leading AI Security Institute, promote Britain at AI summits and argue that leaders must shape the AI transition to ensure we feel the benefits of this technology. Rishi is also a senior advisor for Microsoft and Anthropic.

Building the Living Bridge between the UK and India
Akshata is deeply committed to strengthening the relationship between the UK and India, where she was born and her parents still live. She believes culture and education are the most powerful ways to enrich the bond between the two countries and inspire the next generation. Her Stories & 10 Objects series explored how the V&A Museum’s South Asian collection illuminates the long-shared history of British and Indian culture. She is now working with Google Arts & Culture on a project that uses cutting-edge technology to bring these stories to audiences across both countries. Akshata is also a Trustee of the V&A Museum.

Championing British businesses - the engine of the UK economy
Britain won’t succeed in the race for everyday AI if small businesses don’t adopt the new technologies. AI represents the biggest untapped opportunity for Britain's small businesses. Rishi is committed to demonstrating to small business leaders how they can use AI to do more than they have ever done before. He has taken this message to the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses conference, to Enterprise Nation and is helping firms in his own constituency understand how they can use AI to grow and compete.

Campaigning for prostate cancer screening
Rishi is an ambassador for Prostate Cancer Research. In government, he funded the TRANSFORM trial, a landmark £42 million study that could pave the way for a national screening programme and save thousands of lives each year. He is convinced that targeted screening can stop families from losing a father, a brother or a son before their time, and continues to campaign in parliament and across the country for its establishment. He knows that early diagnosis saves lives.

Helping Britain navigate the geopolitical challenges of our time
Rishi believes that democratic nations must stand together against an axis of authoritarian states. He continues to support Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression and is a member of President Zelensky’s International Advisory Council for the Economic Renewal of Ukraine. In his role at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, he is helping shape their work on what a new economic, security and technological commons among allies should seek to achieve. Rishi is a member of the advisory board for the Bloomberg New Economy Forum.
